It’s been a little while since I have posted and for that I apologise.
I have recently had this really strong feeling that there is something I could be doing right now other than everything which currently occupies my time. I haven’t exactly discovered what that thing is yet but it has encouraged me to try a new approach to business.
So far I have managed to prioritise my time better so that I am more efficient and actually get things done instead of finding lots of other non-important things to do. (Which means that I finally did laundry and made a start on my Philosophy essay!)
Currently I’m writing the OFFICIAL mission statement for Sense Of Self as it’s one thing to have a really great idea and a fab ethos but the important thing is to have it written down and saved everywhere so that I can hand it out left, right and centre until people start taking notice!!
I even have an action plan that will take me right up to Christmas (oh goodness, it really IS that time already…) but then things will snowball into next year and maybe people will start to see a change in their every day lives.
Although I am getting good at posting really interesting things on the Facebook page so you should definitely check that out 🙂
So today I moved into my flat for University and all my flatmates seem absolutely lovely. I am really excited to settle in properly and get to know new people.
I now have an official ‘Sense Of Self’ drawer under my new desk where I can keep all my wristbands, business cards, bank statements and other business paraphernalia together and in one place. Magic.
I will be updating all the Sense Of Self social media pages and keeping a close watch on the website and also any orders in between exploring more of the city and having a wild-but-not-too-wild time!
I’m now also beginning to focus more on the speaking and workshop side of business so if you think your school assembly needs spiced up or equally if you are a teacher and think your class could use a little extra encouragement and motivation then I actively encourage you to PLEASE get in touch via the website- http://www.sense-of-self.co.uk – as there is a special page for any questions or comments. (I’d love to hear from you)
Hope everyone is having a brilliant weekend 🙂
I sold something! I am now in business officially! I am a businesswoman! ( http://www.sense-of-self.co.uk ) However, I have also been tied to my couch with glandular fever. The doctor laughed and said it would be optimistic to suggest that I would be back to normal this side of Christmas. This horrified me for two reasons. One: I am terrible at resting or taking it easy. I like to be busy and do a lot of things and feel productive. I have energy. Two: what do you mean Christmas? I have lots of plans and I’m still in denial about how quickly 2014 has passed. Unbelievable. Also it’s going to be my birthday this Sunday (that’s the 24th so don’t forget) and I had wanted to celebrate, not flop like a wet cloth and “take it easy” !!!
On the other hand, I have an amazing opportunity to be part of The Change Leadership Foundation who are running a week’s residential in Cambridge and it’s about self development and inspiring others and changing the world. This means that instead of being a wild party animal and painting the town all shades of red, I will be celebrating my 18th birthday probably on top of a nice hill eating something healthy and singing. (Not an assumption, I read the itinerary!) Slight exaggeration maybe. I’m really looking forward to it though and I plan to keep a journal of the week so that even if I don’t take it all in at once, I can read it all again until I do.
Also, please send sympathy cupcakes with strawberries on top. Send 18 if you can… 🙂
Hello again everyone!
I apologise for 1) sporadic posting and 2) lack of posting. Things are busy in a really good way right now. Tomorrow the show run starts for Phantom Of The Opera and I will be in the orchestra pit with my violin for the rest of the week (after work of course.)
Also I have ordered 100 t-shirts which are due to be printed any day now. Great stuff.
Everything seems on track for the website and I have 300 wristbands to give away so look out for me over the festival period in Edinburgh…
I will get into a routine soon I promise, then you won’t have to guess whether I have posted something although I’m sure you all read this blog every day just in case!
Power on through ’till Friday 🙂
This photo was taken at the pre-launch party which again, was absolutely awesome. Sense Of Self was given a whole page of the Dunfermline Press yesterday!! A WHOLE PAGE!
I am thrilled that they used a photo which included all of the amazing young people who represent Sense Of Self as ambassadors.
The cheque has also been put into the bank so now begins a new chapter of the journey.
A massive thank-you to all my amazing ambassadors! From left to right starting at the top we have: Stuart Ritchie, Kallum Russell, Andrew Gardiner, Michael Saunders, Hannah Thomson, Deborah Smart, Shannon McGlinchey, (myself in blue), Louise Munro and Kimberley Riddell.
The whole evening on Tuesday was amazing and I am grateful to everyone who could come. Now we play the waiting game and once my official business bank account is open then things will start getting even more exciting!
Three cheers for Sense Of Self!
Getting really excited about the pre-launch party tomorrow night!
So far I have completed nearly every task that I put on my to-do list.
The plan now is to get all the smaller details in check and get all of the wonderful ambassadors ready to rock and there we go!
Will have some photos to post after tomorrow so you can expect those on Wednesday morning.
Not long now…!!!
