It’s been a little while since I have posted and for that I apologise.
I have recently had this really strong feeling that there is something I could be doing right now other than everything which currently occupies my time. I haven’t exactly discovered what that thing is yet but it has encouraged me to try a new approach to business.
So far I have managed to prioritise my time better so that I am more efficient and actually get things done instead of finding lots of other non-important things to do. (Which means that I finally did laundry and made a start on my Philosophy essay!)
Currently I’m writing the OFFICIAL mission statement for Sense Of Self as it’s one thing to have a really great idea and a fab ethos but the important thing is to have it written down and saved everywhere so that I can hand it out left, right and centre until people start taking notice!!
I even have an action plan that will take me right up to Christmas (oh goodness, it really IS that time already…) but then things will snowball into next year and maybe people will start to see a change in their every day lives.
Although I am getting good at posting really interesting things on the Facebook page so you should definitely check that out 🙂
So today I moved into my flat for University and all my flatmates seem absolutely lovely. I am really excited to settle in properly and get to know new people.
I now have an official ‘Sense Of Self’ drawer under my new desk where I can keep all my wristbands, business cards, bank statements and other business paraphernalia together and in one place. Magic.
I will be updating all the Sense Of Self social media pages and keeping a close watch on the website and also any orders in between exploring more of the city and having a wild-but-not-too-wild time!
I’m now also beginning to focus more on the speaking and workshop side of business so if you think your school assembly needs spiced up or equally if you are a teacher and think your class could use a little extra encouragement and motivation then I actively encourage you to PLEASE get in touch via the website- http://www.sense-of-self.co.uk – as there is a special page for any questions or comments. (I’d love to hear from you)
Hope everyone is having a brilliant weekend 🙂
Into organisation mode now! The Sense Of Self pre-launch celebration will be in a few weeks and it’s going to bring everyone together to support me and to promote the fact that Sense Of Self will soon be official!
Soon I’ll be on a new journey
🙂 🙂 🙂
Firstly, a big thanks to Bruce Walker and his team for having me at their Launch Party last night. It went really well and I had the chance to meet some amazing people!
I now have a focus. I have goals with deadlines and I feel excited.
Today outside the gallery there is a bike rally type thing going on where people are doing crazy cycle stunts and racing each other. It didn’t inspire me to hop on a bike any time soon but it had started me thinking about being braver! It only takes one moment of crazy courage to get the adrenaline pumping and then you’ve nothing to fear.
Now… time to get a move on. Nearly there.
Sorry for the lack of posting, things have been getting really busy for me recently. It’s great! I have designed a logo and it is based on the cirlce of infinite possibilities. I have designated a meaning for each arrow too so that my logo has a personal meaning for me but also so that I have a cool story to tell people if they ask about the logo. People love stories. I think it’s lovely and I will post a picture as soon as I have a final design because it’s one thing having a great idea and some rough sketches but it’s another thing to actually make it appear on paper the way i see it in my imagination… BUT I love to draw so all should be fine.
I’m looking into getting some t-shirts printed with a kind of promotional design to get people talking about what I’m doing so that there is a buzz of excitement and energy in time for the website to be launched and subsequently, THE BUSINESS!
I hope to drive you all to pay more attention to my facebook page too.. *hint hint*
Cheers for now, busy busy busy!
I am getting more and more excited about being a business-woman every day.
I have set myself a few little deadlines for things business related and otherwise. You see, today I discovered that I have been offered a place to study Psychology and Sociology at University! Which means… I would like to have Sense Of Self up and running before September-time as I think it might be a bit easier to run a business while studying and working, than to try and juggle a job, University and be trying to start up? I don’t know.
Honestly I feel as though all the safe bits about starting a business are kind-of pulling together and now is the time to be brave, be bold and take the plunge! (Which is so terrifying I have started doodling comic-strips and drawing what I think a jazz solo would look like…)
I have a couple of exciting meetings lined up for the start of next month and I’m still loving working at the gallery.
