It’s been a little while since I have posted and for that I apologise.
I have recently had this really strong feeling that there is something I could be doing right now other than everything which currently occupies my time. I haven’t exactly discovered what that thing is yet but it has encouraged me to try a new approach to business.
So far I have managed to prioritise my time better so that I am more efficient and actually get things done instead of finding lots of other non-important things to do. (Which means that I finally did laundry and made a start on my Philosophy essay!)
Currently I’m writing the OFFICIAL mission statement for Sense Of Self as it’s one thing to have a really great idea and a fab ethos but the important thing is to have it written down and saved everywhere so that I can hand it out left, right and centre until people start taking notice!!
I even have an action plan that will take me right up to Christmas (oh goodness, it really IS that time already…) but then things will snowball into next year and maybe people will start to see a change in their every day lives.
Although I am getting good at posting really interesting things on the Facebook page so you should definitely check that out 🙂
Today I was designing the t-shirts for my Sense Of Self Ambassadors (which are really awesome by the way!!!) and I was thinking about the fact that it is very nearly pre-launch party time which means it is also very nearly launch time too!
I’m pushing to launch Sense Of Self over the summer so that I can give my full attention to making sure everything runs smoothly and then can focus positively on University when I get there. My goal is to have Sense Of Self developing throughout my time as a student so that when I finish University I have a ready-made job and an ever growing business to support myself and avoid the panic of “I have a degree but there aren’t any jobs” and hopefully be able to offer jobs to others and build a Sense Of Self team.
But yeah today I remembered where the initial inspiration for Sense Of Self came from. It was because I always dreamed of being an art student and going to art school but then the closer I found myself towards the stage of my life where I had to make a decision, I realised that art is my hobby. Drawing is fun for me. I like to paint whatever inspiration throws at me. I do not enjoy being restricted and told what to do because creativity is a freedom and a form of expression and I wanted it to always stay that way for me. I want to feel like an art student without having the pressures of being an art student.
Back to business. My dream for Sense Of Self is that it will give others opportunities to find an idea that excites them and run with it. I want to show the world that you can absolutely live the life you always dreamed of. I want to start as an example of this and watch the world take notice.
Before I get carried away though we have the pre-launch party. Getting close, exciting!
I have two speaking opportunities coming up! This Friday I will be speaking at the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh to celebrate the Launch of the San Francisco Summit competition! Also, the following Wednesday I will be delivering a small presentation for Dunfermline Talks Business.
Things are getting exciting. Now…what to wear?!?!
So my business cards arrived yesterday and I have 1000 of them! I really like how they have turned out and look forward to giving them out to as many people as I can 🙂
My aim is to be able to launch Sense Of Self™ this year! To be able to do this I need to build up a hype and get people talking about my ideas and excited about everything. Any help is much appreciated so please do tell your friends and family!
I’m still working on the website at the moment and it is going to be fantastic! I’ve added in a ‘video of the month’ section. I’ll link it to the TED Talks or any video that I have found uplifting and inspiring that month. I will be up for suggestions too!
I feel as though I have pushed the rock to the top of a massive hill and now every little step I take is about to give it that final push before it begins to gather speed and tumble down the hill. (I hope that makes sense it did to me I like metaphors??)
Anyway, back to work!
Lots going on right now. I’m in the process of designing my website and it is looking awesome even if I do say so myself! Also, I have been offered a place to study at Edinburgh University! It’s to study Philosophy which I think would be really great for my personal development as well as be really inspiring in terms of designs. If nothing else, it’ll make me think. Thinking is good.
I’m starting to slowly get more likes on the Facebook page and it’s 10 away from the 100-likes milestone! I know you all have Facebook so I urge you to please please PLEASE go on and like it!! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sense-Of-Self/499034796884755 (if this link doesn’t work, copy and paste it into the search bar and that should do it- I’m not the most technical but I’m learning!)
Things are moving faster and faster and I quite possibly could be ready to launch Sense Of Self™ by the summer time which would be incredible!
Also the weather here in Scotland has been actually nice for the past couple of days. Sunshine with not even a hint of rain!!! Although it’s still cold of course. Lovely lovely.
So, get on Facebook, scream shout and tell all your friends and if you haven’t taken my super quick survey already- now is your chance 🙂 https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PXFNZJJ
