I have just returned home after spending a week in Cambridge as a participant on a Transformational Leadership programme. It was run by ‘The Change’ and let me tell you they absolutely changed my life. I arrived with no expectations as I really couldn’t imagine what it would be like, where we would be living or even what kind of things we would be doing.
We were staying in Burwell House and it was like a big old fashioned home with massive grounds. A proper retreat. Around forty people arrived and we all ate together and helped prepare meals and clear u. It was like a big family. The activities and learning sessions really tore apart everything I thought I knew about myself and helped me to discover who I truly wanted to be. My descriptions don’t do it justice but I would urge everybody to check out their website and like them on Facebook and if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to participate in one of their courses or volunteer with them then do it!!!
I actually spent my 18th birthday learning how to be more mindful and aware of myself while also finding the confidence to believe in the power of my intentions. If I bring out my violin with the intention to make people happy by playing music, a few bum-notes should not discourage me from that.
Now that I am 18 I can celebrate with champagne as my Sense Of Self sales appear into MY bank account and not my Dad’s.
After a week of spiritual learning I feel fully equipped to change the world and believe in my business!
Make sure to check out the website tomorrow to find out what September’s quote of the month will be…
I sold something! I am now in business officially! I am a businesswoman! ( http://www.sense-of-self.co.uk ) However, I have also been tied to my couch with glandular fever. The doctor laughed and said it would be optimistic to suggest that I would be back to normal this side of Christmas. This horrified me for two reasons. One: I am terrible at resting or taking it easy. I like to be busy and do a lot of things and feel productive. I have energy. Two: what do you mean Christmas? I have lots of plans and I’m still in denial about how quickly 2014 has passed. Unbelievable. Also it’s going to be my birthday this Sunday (that’s the 24th so don’t forget) and I had wanted to celebrate, not flop like a wet cloth and “take it easy” !!!
On the other hand, I have an amazing opportunity to be part of The Change Leadership Foundation who are running a week’s residential in Cambridge and it’s about self development and inspiring others and changing the world. This means that instead of being a wild party animal and painting the town all shades of red, I will be celebrating my 18th birthday probably on top of a nice hill eating something healthy and singing. (Not an assumption, I read the itinerary!) Slight exaggeration maybe. I’m really looking forward to it though and I plan to keep a journal of the week so that even if I don’t take it all in at once, I can read it all again until I do.
Also, please send sympathy cupcakes with strawberries on top. Send 18 if you can… 🙂
Hello again everyone!
I apologise for 1) sporadic posting and 2) lack of posting. Things are busy in a really good way right now. Tomorrow the show run starts for Phantom Of The Opera and I will be in the orchestra pit with my violin for the rest of the week (after work of course.)
Also I have ordered 100 t-shirts which are due to be printed any day now. Great stuff.
Everything seems on track for the website and I have 300 wristbands to give away so look out for me over the festival period in Edinburgh…
I will get into a routine soon I promise, then you won’t have to guess whether I have posted something although I’m sure you all read this blog every day just in case!
Power on through ’till Friday 🙂
This photo was taken at the pre-launch party which again, was absolutely awesome. Sense Of Self was given a whole page of the Dunfermline Press yesterday!! A WHOLE PAGE!
I am thrilled that they used a photo which included all of the amazing young people who represent Sense Of Self as ambassadors.
The cheque has also been put into the bank so now begins a new chapter of the journey.
