Over the next 30 days I have set myself a couple of goals.
I want to speak at local high-schools and get feedback from pupils that I can use as proof of market research. I’m also going to have a bag and a phone case printed for myself with my favourite designs on them for a little bit of free advertising! (I always have a bag and I always have my phone)
I have three meetings arranged and I’m mega excited about those too. I’m hoping to gain enough knowledge from others that I will feel confident in pushing forward.
I’m back to work on Thursday this week and before then I would like to have learned a bit about website design and finished reading The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber. I have a million books in my ‘to-read’ pile, a mixture of business books and fiction. I’ve started keeping a book journal with the name of the book, the author and a rating out of five stars. I think it’ll encourage me to read more and then I have a record of the books I have read so I can recommend them to people!
I just remembered a quote too which basically said, when you see somebody reading a book you enjoyed that’s a book recommending a person. I liked that.
A side note- I just went to make coffee and it turns out our milk is four days out of date (how delightful) so I’m going to have to drag myself away from the computer to go and get some more. 😦
My aim for the week after next (week beginning the 10th of March) is to have a clear vision of the steps I will need to take in order to achieve my dream of having Sense Of Self running before September!
Cheers guys! Have an awesome week.
Yeah this is the jazz solo that I doodled 🙂
I am getting more and more excited about being a business-woman every day.
I have set myself a few little deadlines for things business related and otherwise. You see, today I discovered that I have been offered a place to study Psychology and Sociology at University! Which means… I would like to have Sense Of Self up and running before September-time as I think it might be a bit easier to run a business while studying and working, than to try and juggle a job, University and be trying to start up? I don’t know.
Honestly I feel as though all the safe bits about starting a business are kind-of pulling together and now is the time to be brave, be bold and take the plunge! (Which is so terrifying I have started doodling comic-strips and drawing what I think a jazz solo would look like…)
I have a couple of exciting meetings lined up for the start of next month and I’m still loving working at the gallery.
Over the past few days I have been racing my way through book after book! A couple I read have really solidified my aspirations in my head and now I have to be brave enough to take action.
I’d like to share some of my goals with you-
1. I aim to have a real, working business up-and-running before my birthday. (Which is at the end of August)
2. I want to see the world.
3. I’d like to start running events and workshops that when people leave, they feel inspired for weeks!
4. Write a book. I don’t know whether it’ll be fiction or non-fiction but I would love to write one.
5. Create a change and leave something to be proud of.
I scare myself sometimes with how ambitious I can be but that’s good.
This is my first few days off in a long time and…I have the cold! Bummer.
Today I am planning the next couple of weeks as I have a few meetings lined up and would love to be ready to accept the advice I will receive and actually get started. I feel I am at that stage where I could begin to start a business so I just have to begin to start. (come on, Rachel!)
I will do this.
I’m currently in the process of creating a three or four question survey to use as market research. Once I’m done I plan to take it around local schools and give a small presentation along with it. I was also hoping I could get some online interaction too? Would anybody be willing to fill one in or even to send one to people you think might be interested in what I am doing?
Please give me a shout or send me some feedback at – firstname.lastname@example.org
Anything you are happy for me to use as market research!
