Notes and thoughts and ideas spinning around in my head. Today I feel motivated. Hopefully tomorrow I shall turn some of these notes into paintings. I like the drawings I have done but I also think if I painted my ideas, that would look kinda cool too. We’ll see. My inspiration is following an old retro route, like vintage things that I can pin quirky phrases to.
I have come up with a design about allowing good thoughts to blossom because I think a lot of young people are held back by negative perceptions. It’s just a rough idea but I’d love any feedback!
I’m trying not only to tackle visible insecurities like braces etc but also mental issues.
Further note- I got my braces off yesterday and yes now I have my teeth all in order but it feels like I have been whacked in the mouth. Ouch.
Wow this week has been oddly busy or possibly I just notice the lack of time I have just to simply be. College has been good so far but definitely a kick-up-the-behind, so to speak. Honestly I didn’t realise just how much work would be involved, especially while trying to work as well. I kinda love it though.
In the textiles class we were talking about sewing machines and ‘scribble stitching’ which has opened me up to a whole series of new designs. Originally I had been going to draw heads with different styles of big hair (something I used to be super conscious of- my frizzy, curly, uncontrollable hair) however, if I was to sew a small design then the textures could be mildly more interesting than if I literally just scribbled. We shall see.
For the observational drawing unit we have to make a blog to post our work to so once I do that I’ll post the link and you can all have a look.
(not stressing, really)
